About the Journal

The need for a journal in India, devoted exclusively to activities in the field of structural engineering with special emphasis on research and development had been felt since long. To meet this demand and to provide a medium for structural engineers in India and abroad and to document, discuss and debate current trends in design, research, and development relating to all areas of structural engineering, SERC decided to undertake the publication of a quarterly journal entitled Journal of Structural Engineering (JoSE). The first publication came out in April 1973.

From 1993 onwards, the first issue in each Volume has been dedicated to a special topic of current R&D interest. From the year 2005 onwards, the JoSE has been converted in to a bi-monthly Journal to meet the enhanced responses received from the prospective authors, nationally and internationally.
